Genes Long strands of DNA are present in every nucleus-containing cell. All were interviewed and blood was sampled for GADA measurement and HLA DR B1 typing. Levels of 27 immune mediators were measured in 34 GADA (glutamic acid decarboxylase antibodies) positive type 1 diabetic patients, aged 27.4 ± 1.2 years at a mean of 7 weeks after diagnosis (designated 0 month) and 6 months later. The aim of this work was to study the different GADA-IgG subclass profiles during a 3-year follow-up in these groups of autoimmune diabetes. Therefore it is important to explore the process of psychosocial adaptation to diabetes during the first three years after diagnosis in adults in order to develop a programme to support patients in early psychosocial adaptation. Atypical patients displayed significantly higher BMI and better beta-cell function at onset and after 12 months. The prevalence of GADA and HLA DR B1*03/04 was similar between groups.
