Diabetes is a multi factorial disorder essentially resulting from lack of proper exercise, inappropriate food habits etc. However, systematic reviews are lacking. As reported by the World Health Organization, about 90 percent of the 347 million people in the world with diabetes suffer from type-2. Studies have shown that routine yoga practice takes care of all these factors and hence helps to maintain a blood-sugar level near normal range for long-term. Study quality was evaluated using the PEDro scale. Long term diabetes also affects the heart, the kidney, and virtually every organ. There have been some practice related findings which are important to note before we dwell into the benefits of Yoga for the mentioned conditions.
