Altered heat stress response following streptozotocin-induced diabetes. – PubMed

Prophylactic insulin treatment is effective in preventing diabetes in animal models of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) but the safety of such preventive treatment in prediabetic human subjects remains unclear; insulin is a potential autoantigen that could accelerate beta-cell decompensation and onset of IDDM. HSP27 expression is enhanced in target tissues of diabetic microvascular complications, and changes in circulating serum HSP27 levels (sHSP27) have been reported in patients with macrovascular disease. Of these patients, 73 met the criteria for cardiogenic shock during their hospitalization. MIN6 cells and db/db mice were sham-treated or treated with heat shock (HS) and mild electrical stimulation (MES) (HS+MES) to induce HSP72. RESULTS: Diabetics were less likely than nondiabetics to undergo thrombolysis (28% vs. Low Hsps make organs vulnerable to injury, impair the stress response, accelerate systemic inflammation, raise islet amyloid polypeptide, and increase insulin resistance. 43 +/- 31, n = 12, P = 0.0001), but they were also statistically significantly different from their diabetic co-twins when the difference between the pairs was compared (P = 0.0280).

We suggest that heat therapy (sauna: 80-100°C; hot tub: at 40°C) for 15 min, three times a week, for 3 months, is a safe method to test its efficiency. Does the selfish person ever consider how wars of conquest–the ultimate act of personal selfishness–bring uncounted burdens to others? These results suggest that when tissues from STZ-induced diabetic animals are heat stressed, the Hsp/stress response is altered in a tissue-specific manner. He says several People living along with diabetes already know as quickly as their blood sugar is low, however if it’s reasonable enough they could not be lucid enough to recognise something is wrong.
